Development of the national emissions database, CO2data, to enable consistent LCA for buildings
In 2017 Ministry of the Environment commissioned a study to develop a roadmap to reduce the carbon footprint of construction and promote climate goals. It was understood that the relative importance of building materials to the lifecycle GHG emissions of buildings is increasing due to the improvements in building energy efficiency and the decarbonization of energy. Despite the availability of several tools suitable for building LCA, the existing data had clear deficiencies and weaknesses for consistent calculations, prompting the initiation to create open and independent national emission database, CO2data.
