Elza Briuka
About
Elza is a PhD student at Civil Engineering Institute of Riga Technical University. She obtained her Professional Bachelor’s degree (2023) and Professional Master’s degree (2024) at Riga Technical University (RTU). Since the beginning of her career she have worked in Latvian companies such as SIA Ostby (ConPro), AS Pillar Capital, SIA Būvkonsultants, SIA Skonto Prefab. Since 2024 she is a research assistant at RTU Civil Engineering Institute and an engineer at SIA CLT Profi, dealing with design and research of wood and wood composite structures.
The Effectiveness Increase of Timber-Concrete Composite Slab and Reduction of Brittle Failure
The presentation will cover the design and behavior of wood and concrete composite structures under bending loads. Also included will be information on the nature of the wood-concrete material interface and the interactions between the two dissimilar materials under load.
